Friendship Day was originally promoted by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards in 1930, intended to be 2 August. Friendship Day was promoted by greeting card National Association during the 1920's.
Friendship day as it started was a day where people wish their close and best friends in their life by sending cards. It was then it gradually spread across the world and started to make August 2nd a day where all friends can connect each other.
