Turkey blocked Twitter on Wednesday. It is estimated that there are over 10 million Twitter users in Turkey. The reason behind it is that is to prevent the broadcast of images from Monday's bombing that killed 32 people.
There was a recent bombing in the town of Suruc as part of a campaign of retaliation by the Islamic State group for a recent crackdown on its operations in the country.Turkish officials say they have detained more than 500 people suspected of working with IS in the last six months.
Turkey's Prime Minister said:
"We will eradicate Twitter," Erdoğan told a rally in Bursa in the west of the country. "I don’t care what the international community says. Everyone will witness the power of the Turkish Republic."
