Varoufakis has been trending in Twitter for a while do you know why and who he is?
Yanis Varoufakis, was a Greece finance minister who announced today that he is quitting from the minister post, a day after Greeks backed his "no" campaign and rejected creditors' reform proposals.
He was not only a finance minister, he is also a Greek-Australian economist. In January 2015 general election, he was elected to the Greek parliament, representing SYRIZA.
Eurozone finance ministers, with whom he repeatedly clashed, had wanted him removed. Varoufakis said, it was felt his departure would be helpful in finding a solution to the country's debt crisis. He also said that this move could help Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras reach an agreement with creditors.
